My Story
I have been providing estate planning services in Virginia since 2010. I started my law firm ten years ago while I was living in Alexandria, Virginia and staying home to care for my 2 year old daughter and newborn son.
After I had my first child, I decided that I no longer wanted to work for a big firm. Not only did I want more time with my family, but I was sick of the impersonal work I was doing - one of a team of attorneys with little to no client contact. Instead, I wanted to get to know my clients, become someone they could trust and provide a service that would actually help them and their families.
Around this same time, I also experienced personal tragedy and was dealing with the aftermath of death. My parents passed away suddenly, and I was shocked to discover that they had done little to no estate planning. As their only child, I was left to handle their affairs. I experienced first hand how hard it is to oversee a messy probate process, while also grieving. I came to understand just how important it is to plan for your death and make the process as easy as possible for your surviving family.
So, I decided to learn as much as I could about estate planning. While, I was pregnant with my second child, I attended Georgetown University's amazing tax LLC program, focusing on private wealth management, income and estate tax and charitable giving. My practice focuses on creating individualized planning for families and providing peace of mind.
I grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida, and I currently live in Charlottesville, Virginia with my husband and three children.
